Merry Christmas!

Okei... I know it's already a bit late but allow me to still greet you a...

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

I do hope that you and your family really enjoyed yesterday. As for me, I enjoyed the company of my family. We haven't been together that much na rin due to our own businesses so this holiday season is the right time to have a reunion. I really missed my cousins a lot... (.^__^.)
I received my gifts too and they're all soo cute. I really liked them.. A LOT!

Honestly, I'm really happy yesterday..but I got a bit sad just last night.
The reason behind it is a bit funny..but please don't laugh at this confession. Actually I'm pretty sure that a couple of years from now I'll be laughing at this post... or should I say a couple of days?? ... but still please allow me to share it here:

3 months ago, a new neighbor moved in to our compound. They're quite nice... but of course at first I didn't notice that. Actually, I like them and I really planned to be friends with them, meron namang mga ka-same age bracket ako sa kanila.
Actually, I admired one of them...hahaha! I always call him as Chris Tiu...(basketball player of Ateneo Blue Eagles with a jersey # of 17, just in case you don't know him). He looks like him kasi eh. I shared it with my Mom and then when we talk about him we call him under the alias of Chris Tiu. We don't know kasi his real name so alias nalang. And he had a younger brother. I call him naman as Rico Maierhoffer <---(did I get the spelling right?) This Rico naman is a baskteball player of DLSU Green Archers. Imagine, Chris Tiu and Rico Maierhoffer be brothers? They don't look a like isn't it? hehehe... for short, my neighbors are good looking! ..FINALLY! (.^__^.) But I'm into Chris Tiu more.. There's nothing special with this person talaga..there's even no communication between us, not until last Dec. 17, 2007. I was a bit sad back then and then I asked some sign if I have to really stop na from "that something". And then... the rest is history!

Basta...

I'm this kind of person that really don't want some things to be made straight to the point. Especially when it's a bit complicated.
And besides, it's really hard to explain. Kaya nga it's complicated eh. I'll make sign language, perhaps..joke!
So sorry for those who can't relate with this. But for those who had the same experience like this..for sure, we can understand this language of mine. =)

As what I've reflected, It's a missed opportunity, missed chance and, maybe, missed friendship. Now that they've moved to another place, all of my plans was just been torn into pieces..just last night.
It left me shocked at the middle of the night while looking outside in between our curtains as they prepare there stuffs and place it inside that big truck! I didn't cry..just teary! EMO mood.

It's a really odd for me saying these things in here, we haven't even been that close. But I don't know, maybe I just missed them..or him. Partly, he became an answered prayer just after the time when I'm gloomy and had accepted that I have to move on.
I just become contented with just looking every morning at weekends, waiting him to pass by our door as he prepare to go somewhere I don't know...for 3 months.
And there was an opportunity given to me...that night of December 17.

Ooow..I'm just too slow, isn't it? I stayed so silent.
I became so shy again...
thought that "oh, there's a next time pa naman...they'll just be there..they won't go! I have lots of time pa.." I just valued the presence of that person when he's already gone.

I'm just so sad, isn't it? Too obvious.. =(
Too many regrets this past few days. I don't know why.
Maybe I won't forget this day, that person, that family. I do hope our paths will meet again.
" I'll see you..when I see you" that's the perfect phrase to say..

I promise my next post will be something happy naman. Oh, about our Christmas party and our Paskuhan celebration at UST. But still promises are meant to be broken isn't it? I've done it a couple of time already.
I just hope this time, I wont! (.^__^.)

2 days to go and it's Christmas Day!
1 day to go and it's Christmas Eve! (.^__^.)

Oh my, time flies really fast. The last time I've updated my blog was during our 1st simbang gabi mass and then now we've finished the 9th. I actually didn't completed it...it's because of the Paskuhan celebration at UST last December 19. (I'll update about that next time..just refer to my cbox at the right side!) But my Mom completed it..and that's really great...big sacrifice. (.^__^.)
I'm just a bit sad because I wasn't able to complete it again this time. I missed ONLY ONE!! Fr. Dave told us that when we missed one, it's as if Jesus is immature. He compared 9 masses kasi to 9 months to which Jesus is inside the womb of Mary. So as for me, Jesus is quite immature...8 masses = 8 months..huhu.
But it's alright, I hope God will forgive me. I still wished for a wish though. They say that some wishes do come true when you completed the masses. Okei lang naman sa akin even though partly granted lang..hehe! (.^__^.)

So it's the last day of Simbang Gabi...and (sorry for this) but I didn't quite enjoyed it. I know, I'm happy because it's the 9th but I'm not happy because I quite felt exhausted. The mass presider kasi was Fr. Fernando Suarez. This priest is a certified healing priest. Believe me! He did miracles and will still be doing miracles. I've encountered him once during the Recollection last April, i think? OKei, as what I'm saying..he's a healing priest so expect lots of people to come and hear his mass.
Let's see: It's Simbang gabi + it's a Sunday + a healing priest = crowded place and exhaustion. I'm a bid sad because I wasn't able to see the mass.. I was able to hear it nalang. But it's okei, I felt healed naman eh and even though that's the situation the importance of that mass is still present.

After the mass, we already finished our shopping and finally we're done! I've checked and double-checked my Christmas wish list and others Christmas wish list and I'm pretty sure that we've bought all of them na. I'm excited to give their gifts na..and I'm excited to receive gifts na rin. Oh, what would it be?? I just can't wait... (.^__^.)

Familiar faces had been seen, smiles had been given and hearts had been prepared for the coming of Jesus Christ. This is what Simbang gabi is for me. Though I know there's still some people whom I haven't reached out to yet, I would like to say sorry to them. It's hard to say it personally, at least here...I can say it. I hurt others just for being me, but I and others have to accept...this is me, my whole character, my whole being. Honestly, I'd love to go back to what I've left way back but then, I'm afraid that my feelings and others feelings will get hurt again. I expect a lot of things talaga siguro. I know it's wrong, but believe me I only have much expectations to those people which I know are special for me. A new year will come soon and I think I just have to forgive and forget. Forgiving is easy...but forgetting is hard.

Christmas Party for Pre-Com

It's our Christmas Party for Pre-Com Society. It's my first time to enjoy this party even though last time we had a party when I was still a junior officer for this organization. Last time kasi, we're just a junior officer - - - It felt like we don't have the guts pa to enjoy the party together with the executive officers back then. Hindi pa nga kami kasama sa exchange gifts noon eh. And then there's some issues pa that time so I didn't really enjoy that much. We just sit and watched the party last year.

But now that we are the executive officers na..we made the party really enjoyable and welcoming for our staffers and new batch of junior officers. Syempre, we don't want them to feel what we've felt last year. We had some games, lots of foods kasi nagpa-cater kami not like last year na bumili nalang kami ng pancit near UST, and exchange gifts wherein lahat nakasali.
As for my baby, I got Catherine Saw. She's a ju
nior officer and we're a bit close especially noong UAAP season kasi kasama siya sa mga boosters ng Yellow Jackets every cheering time. Syempre, kinukwneto niya sa akin yung about sa games pag hindi ako nakakapanood ng live sa Araneta Coliseum. So we became a bit close. I can't think of any gift for her so I just gave her Cadbury chocolates worth P150.00. She liked it naman..I doubt na hindi niya yun magustuhan...who will say no to chocolates? (.^__^.)

We had games like charades <--- (don't know the right spelling..), newsp
aper dance and a different kind of trip to Jerusalem. Well, I've seen this kind of trip to Jerusalem game but it's not the traditional type. Diba, yung traditional type is that mag-uunahan yung mga guys and girls na umupo sa mga chairs na naka circular position in the middle when the music stops. We made it a bit more exciting...the guys will be seated in the chair and the girls will go around them as the music goes. When the music stops, the girls will hurry to the guys to sit in their laps...haha! It's really funny talaga. Hindi na ako sumali sa kanila...it's not that I don't like that type of game... I'm just one of those officers na acted as referee for the game. I wanted to join talaga..but not that much..hehe!
As for my gift, Alex got me and he gave me a Santa Cap from Blue Magic wit
h Chocolates inside it. It's really cool..fit for Christmas and I like it. I planned to take a picture wearing that cap. Maybe when we go to Global Fun Carnival at MOA this Christmas Vacation. Just refer to my Friendster profile if I've uploaded some pics already.

After the Christm
as Party...it's around 6:00pm na. I'm really in a hurry na kasi I have to go to Megamall pa for the Simbang Gabi. But then when we went out of our building, UST really looks soo good! With all the Christmas decorations...seems like ang sayang mag-picture-picture! So together with my friends Dane, Medalene, Nikko, Scylla and Debbie..we had our group pictures taken. Like these:

Enjoy... (.^__^.)
It's the first day of Simbang Gabi. I'm expecting a lot of things actually. Honestly speaking, I'm looking forward for this. Well, some of my expectations happened and some didn't. What can I do? Some people just choose not to appear..maybe they forget their duties and responsibilities on some things..or maybe they just have their own reasons why such things happen. I can't say it straight to the point..it's just so hard for me.

I just have to move on...past is past.

But still..it's so hard to move on, isnt it? When you're used to such things and then suddenly they just disappear...it's hard to accept. You know that it's there but you can't see or feel it. It's so stupid, crazy...Oh...I don't know!!
Stop this nonsense na nga.

Okei..I'm happy pa rin naman that it's already the start of the Simbang gabi masses. I learned a lot from the homilies of those priests who presides over the mass. They're good priests and they give healthy homilies which I can carry on as I prepare myself to let Jesus enter into my heart especially on Christmas day and this Christmas season. Tonight, Fr. Bong gave a humorous yet full of morals type of homily. It opened my mind into some things which I already forget due to soo much busy-ness at school and of school works.
I think it's already our 5th consecutive simbang gabi masses but I had only completed 3 of it. I hope I can complete it this time. (.^__^.)
It's our last day for our PE in softball and I'm really dead tired today! It's so hot at the field even though you're fully equipped with a hat, arm protector, high socks and gloves...still the heat from the sun almost burned my skin..huhu! And then I didnt function well pa as a player! I can't concentrate kasi that much eh..kakainis talaga. Actually softball is a good sport and a nice game to play..especially when you've got presence of mind. Pero pag wala..lagot na. Actually, kinakabahan pa nga ako kasi baka matamaas ng ball yung face ko or yung head ko. Softball doesn't literally mean na soft yung ball..actually it's so hard. Much harder than the basketball. I'm prone pa naman to those kinds of accidents kaya I have to be careful 100% when at the field.

Christmas vacation is almost near. Wednesday (Dec.19) will be the UST Paskuhan celebration. I'm so excited na talaga. Ang ganda na nga ng university ngayon eh..dami ng Christmas decorations. Saya mag picture-taking. Can't wait talaga...
Plus...simbang gabi masses will start na on Saturday, December 15. I'll be there..I just hope na I can complete all 9 of it. (.^__^.)
It's the first week of advent and a new purple candle has been lighted. Oh! I'm so excited. Christmas is fast approaching. This is my favorite season, actually!
Anyway, I just want to share what the priest had talked about during his homily. Meron kasing part na sinabi siya na why should a person settle for something which you cannot get. I mean, there are some things that's already in front of you and still you look beyond that.
That's true... it's just so hard to wait for something or for "someone" which is obviously won't come. Sometimes, they're already in front of you..but still you choose to ignore it.
It's a little bit dark this afternoon. I don't know if it will going to rain or not. I know there's 3 typhoons here in the Philippines but it's not yet sure if Manila will be affected. So, there's still classes, for sure. A while ago there's an earthquake that shook Manila..i think the epicenter is in Palawan but some said that it's a bit strong. As far as I could remember, we were at the Main building to get our elevator passes. Yup, I have an elevator pass AGAIN! yahoo! After 3 weeks of going up and down the stairs, finally, I won't get tired na. PLease forgive me for being lazy..one semester na lang naman eh and then it's over na. (.^__^.)
Back to the earthquake thingy, I honestly didn't feel it. I'm so weird talaga. I really want to feel it naman kasi I think 3 years old pa ako nung last time na nafeel ko yung intensity ng earthquake and I'm at our province pa way back. Pero I don't want naman yung mga malalakas na magnitude..that's so much na. Siguro nga magnitude 5..okei na! hehe..just joking!

By the way, we have no classes daw on Friday because of the Bonifacio Day celebration...that's really good! That means I have no PE class. Pero, it's a bit sad na rin in one way because my PE class is Softball and it's a bit fun playing that sport. Even though babad ka sa initan, it's okei kasi marami talagang skills na matututunan sa game na toh. It's like baseball! It's fun talaga. Plus, I love our uniform. Our shirt color is blue green..really cute. Bagay pa sa akin..hehe!

I just want to share our Speech lesson last time. We're on the IPA chart lecture na. IPA stands for International Phonetic Association and it's about saying the right pronunciation of a certain word. It's a really fun topic because there's a lot of word that is weird to pronounce. My tongue and mouth just do the work..haha! And then our professor, Ms. Puno gave us an exercise to check if we can already give the phonetic counterpart of the words she will dictate but first is that we must know the correct spelling of those. Well, I think ang mas naging purpose ng activity na ito is to check our spelling ability. I mean, all those words she dictated were a bit weird..because she pronounced it in a weird yet correct way. Here's some examples:
Abattoir
-this word I usually pronounce as "abatoir" but it's correctly pronounce as "abatwa". How on earth can I spell that? I got this wrong.. =(
Bourgeoisie
-this word I usually pronounce as "burgois" but it's correctly pronounce as "borshwuzey". Gosh... is this a french word? I want to learn their language..right now! (.^__^.)
Buffet
- well, i got this correctly..no worries!
Colonel
- I got this too... I remember I had this one incorrectly way back when I was in my highschool years. I spelled it as Kernel... huh? Corn Kernel...?? I learned from my mistakes, you know!
Encore
- i got this one too! Someone from my classmates spelled it as Anchor.. I guess you have an idea now how it is pronounced..=)
Loquacious
- i got this one wrong just because of a letter!!... I put letter i between a and c. That's really sayang..that's one point na sana.
Rendezvous
- i got this one correct. I remember, Craig David had one song with a title like this.
Aisle
- I'm correct here. I remember when I was still young, I usually ask my Mom if we can go to mass and sit near the Aisle... =) Well, now no more. I want at the sides na eh!
Depot
- I got this correct. I remember, there's a clothing store at Edsa Shaw way back named as "Designer's Depot". I don't know if you encounter this store ever.
Le Jean de Marithe Francois Girbaud
- how can I be wrong with this??
Esprit de Corp
- I'm correct in here again. I heard this term last semester during one of our Management classes.
Faux Pas
- I'm correct here..I don't know how did I get this one. I think I read it somewhere. Know what how it is pronounced? Like this: "faw pa"..haha!
Cupboard
- it seems simple..just a word cupboard. But lots of my classmates were wrong here. It's pronounced kasi as "kabord".
Indict
- I'm wrong here...huhu! I wrote indite. I spelled it nalang like the way our professor pronounced it. One of my classmates even thought the word was "Inday"...haha!
Yacht
-I'm correct here. Again, it looks simple to spell but it is pronounced as "yatch".

Oooh..not bad. 11 out of 15. I won't say what's the score of the majority. I'll keep it as 2h-am secret nalang. Mam Puno told us that this type of exam is given for grade 6 students. Hwwwhaat?? That's so surprising...yet really disappointing. Grade 6 compared to 2nd year college students? I better read a dictionary. (.^__^.)

Funny post!

Last November 20, 2007, two great tennis living legends had come face to face on an exhibition game held at Seoul, Korea. It's an Asian country so imagine how near Roger Federer is here in my place..oh my gosh! (.^__^.) Anyway it's a game between Roger Federer - the greatest player of my time, and Pete Sampras - the greatest player d uring the 90's. So as a tradition for the Koreans they let the 2 players wear a cute korean dress...like this:

Isn't it they look cute and nice on these costumes..especially the guy wearing the purple one! (.^__^.) Ooohh... so cute!
Okei..back to the game..Roger won against Pete during this exhibition game. Thank god I was able to watch it live on "Balls Channel 33". Here's the story of the game:

OFF COURT - ROGER DEFEATS PETE

In an exhibition match between the giants of tennis present and past, our star defeated Pete Sampras in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3.

The match in Seoul is the first of three Asian exhibitions the two legends will play. The pair meet again Thursday in Kuala Lumpur before heading to Macau two days later.

Sampras brought cheers from the crowd at Seoul's Olympic Tennis Arena as he fired down two fierce aces in his first service game.

Sampras proceeded to break his opponent's serve and then moved 4-2 ahead courtesy of a delightful drop shot.

"I feel pretty good," Sampras told Korean television after the game. "I made it competitive, which was my goal. Obviously Roger is the best player in the world and I retired five years ago. I am grateful that he invited me."

Roger was equally happy with the workout: "Pete was one of my idols growing up and it's great to play him," Roger said. "It wasn't easy for me, it wasn't easy for him as he's been retired five years. I am number one and everyone expects me to win."

Okei..the font style won't come back to its normal appearance. Never mind that! So, as what is expected Roger won! And since I watched the game
while online I also gave some updates na rin sa website niya because some people who happened to be fans of Federer all over the world wasn't able to catch a live streams of the game on the internet or live telecast on television. I'm so kind, isn't it? hehe... =) Anyway, while I was surfing the forum part I saw this picture which is so funny!
Oh...at last the font style came back to normal. So as what I'm saying, the above pic looks funny and someone edited the picture into something like this:
I love Harry Potter and seeing something like this is really cool! It's not yet over..there's one more picture left that may surprise you..they quite resemble, honestly!
This is POTTERER! Hahaha...so funny!
I love it! (.^__^.)

Just when you think things are getting steady just like the way you like it... then you'll just realize that life isn't always just like that. All I thought that this week will be bright just like the way I predicted it, but there's still a couple of problems and misunderstandings. I do hope things will be okei soon. It's not always "What you see is what you get"...sometimes you just have to look at things more deeper.

Maybe next time, my post will be much more enjoyable compared to this one...
Well, I promise you that!

Vintage Federer

I'm just so happy for this week... There's a lot of good things that had happened plus Roger Federer won last Sunday! I watched it live on television...I did not dare to miss it. At first, I was a bit nervous..as a fan, that must be your attitude. Of course, I want Roger to win and when your favorite player will go up against a good offensive and defensive player, your chances will be 60-40. Luckily, real champions prevail! Here's the story...

Federer dominates Ferrer to win 4th Masters Cup title in 5 years, top $10 million in winnings.

SHANGHAI, China (AP) -- Roger Federer was asked what advice he would offer a player getting ready to face him.

"Don't even try, pal," the top-ranked Swiss star said. "You're probably not going to win."

While Federer was quick to say he was joking, it is pretty accurate right now.

Federer won his fourth Masters Cup title in five years Sunday, overwhelming No.6 David Ferer 6-2, 6-3, 6-2. In dominating a fourth consecutive top-five opponent, he showed that the gap between him and the rest of the men's field is as big as ever.

Against Ferrer, known as one of the quickest and best defensive players, Federer was even quicker in tracking down shots that would have been winners against almost anyone else, never giving up on a point, and mixing in good offense, too.

The scene was similar in Federer's semifinal against second-ranked Rafael Nadal his defensive-minded rival who succumbed in just 59 minutes. And hard-serving No. 5 Andy Roddick could only watch in frustration as Federer landed 83 percent of his own first serves and yielded just two games in two sets.

"He's playing very, very well," Ferrer said in a bit of an understatement. "He has no weak point."

That is indeed what has kept Federer at the top for the fourth straight year. And there's no sign he's slowing down as he prepares to resume his pursuit of Pete Sampras' record of 14 Grand Slams -- he currently has 12 -- at the Australian Open in January. He'll face Sampras this week at an exhibition in Malaysia.

"It was a nice victory, especially proving it, to myself and the world, that I can do it over and over again," Federer said. "This is the year-end tournament that only the best can make it to.

Federer collected $1.2 million and a new car for his 53rd career title, his eighth this year. His season winnings topped $10 million, a record for the ATP Tour.

"I practiced hard to get (to) this level," he said. "So when it all comes together in a finals like today against Ferrer, it's fantastic."

Fantastic indeed. About the only thing that Federer did wrong was continue his poor judgment in challenging line calls.

The Spanish contingent in the chilly but packed 15,000-seat stadium included about two dozen boisterous fans dressed in the red-and-gold national colors. A trumpet player led chants to encourage Ferrer, but should have been playing "Taps" instead as Federer ran his record against the Spaniard to 8-0.

Ferrer was simply no match for Federer's blend of spins, power and volleying skills.

Swiss fans said it all with a banner reading, "Shhh! Quiet! Genius at work."

Ferrer admitted he was a bit nervous playing in his biggest final ever and first Masters Cup. Federer made sure he never got comfortable.

Federer faced a break point at 2-2, 30-40 in the first set, then ran off 18 of the next 19 points. The streak also started a stretch in which Federer won 30 of 33 service points through the end of the second set.

"I surprise myself at times," the 26-year-old Federer said. "I've always had a tendency to all of a sudden go in streaks. Once you get on a roll, it's so hard for the opponent to come back into it. I don't allow them. I can mix it up and change it up. This is my big strength. I hope I can keep that going for many more years to come, obviously."

Ferrer, constantly trying to pick on Federer's backhand, hit two amazing winners while serving at 3-3 in the second set. Federer still broke him. When he sent a backhand long on set point, Ferrer smashed his racket, nearly breaking it in two.

Ferrer got one last shot with three break points as Federer served at 1-1 in the third set, but couldn't convert. Federer then broke him the next game on a forehand passing shot on the run.

The Masters Cup will again be played in Shanghai in 2008, but it will move to London in 2009 for four years and be renamed the ATP World Tour Finals.

It's Saturday and this day is off. I've got no classes..thanks to the scheduled Faculty Recollection in our college for giving us this very precious day to have a rest and have some leisure time. Well, actually I'm supposed to be at school at around 1pm because there's this Pre-Com Math Challenge quiz bee organized by our organization...but I prefer to be where I am right now. Going there is not a "waste of time" but there's actually no classes so why should I be at school.. I'm not being an irresponsible officer but I can be at work when we have classes..isn't it? And besides, I'll be working on the list of those students who still haven't got their membership cards. Our adviser told me that their clearance forms will really be blocked at the end of this semester. Really cruel, huh? If this will happen, these students will not be allowed to enroll unless they pay for their membership.. My deadline is on the 1st week of December. That's a lot of wok..imagine 39 sections. And before I forget I have to work on our elevator pass pa pala... Not all students in our college are given the chance to have an elevator pass...only the privileged ones, and I'm one of them! (.^__^.) Actually I had it last semester and luckily I will have it again this 2nd semester... =)

Okei, enough of org stuff..Let's go to academic stuffs.

Nowadays I'm beginning to love going at our Central Library. Last year I don't really want to go there every now and then because I'm a bit lazy going to different sections. Our library was really big that shocked me when I was still a freshie. But now, I'm starting to love going there. There's a lot of books pala that can be useful in my studies rather than relying on the internet. Some of the info's at the net are junks..not factual, mostly opinions. Most of my subjects now requires some researches in the library so expect me now to be there always.

Speaking of subjects, I love my Speech subject under Ms. Puno. Expressing ones self is really fun. All the activities that we had for the past 2 weeks boost up ones confidence and I'm looking forward for the next week, after next week and.....(.^__^.)

We have a Marketing subject for this semester. Thank God we have this rather than Finance because I am planning to major in Marketing..well it's still just a plan and its not yet final. The problem is our book is worth ***P900.00***. I've seen i
t yesterday and it's like an encyclopedia...all pages are colored. How can I highlight that one? I'm fond pa naman of using a marker to emphasize the terms and paragraphs that are important. Parang nakakahinayang namang i-underline yung mga words. 900.00 is too expensive for you to just mark it as long as you like it..sayang talaga! If I'll buy it.. I want to preserve it...hehe..weird. I'll just think over it again.

My PE subject now is SOFTBALL...it's similar to BASEBALL. Yesterday is my PE day and we first had a film viewing and then a quiz to check how far is our
knowledge about this game. The movie title is the "Benchwarmers" and it's a comedy film. I'm not really fond of watching those types of movies but, somehow, I enjoyed naman. After I've watched it..I'm just so excited to play the game next week. Let's see if I can be a good batter, a pitcher, a catcher or a fielder. Plus, our uniform looks good..really equipped!

After the academic stuffs..let's go to sports stuff! (.^__^.)
Tennis: The ATP Masters Series Season Finale in Shanghai China will soon be over. Roger Federer is already at the Semifinals after beating Andy Roddick yesterday, wonderfully! I stayed home yesterday so as to watch the game live at 7:30p
m on Star Sports Ch. 32. I was so happy with how the game went on...Roger is really playing like a champion and like an angel..He's winning in here..kinda wicked because his opponent had a very disappointing game because of him. He's like an angel because of his smile..(.^__^.) Tonight will be the semifinals game against Rafael Nadal. Unfortunately I won't be able to see it because I have to go somewhere... I just wish the Federer will win. I'm positive about it.
I kept on posting some stuffs in the forum at his website.
http://www.rogerfederer.com/
It's fun to interact with the other fans all over the world. And by the way, last Monday, when I was watching his game against Fernando Gonzalez, I saw one banner from the audience that says "ROGER FEDERER WALASTIK!" Isn't it that the word walastik is a filipino word? So there's some Filipino fans watching there..though they look Chinese because they're singkit..still they are Filipinos. I'm soo envious about it. I really want to watch a tennis game live especially of Federer's and China is near from Philippines...hmmm... Well it's alright! That's one of my dreams, actually!
(.^__^.)

OFF COURT - NUMBER ONE!

Roger had his day off today – but it turned out to be a rather busy one nevertheless, as he was handed the year's top tennis player trophy for the fourth consecutive time at a dazzling ceremony on Tuesday.

Our star received the ATP Race award in front of thousands of fans at Shanghai's Qi Zhong Tennis Stadium, the venue of the ongoing Masters Cup championships. "This is already the fourth consecutive year I've received this trophy, and that is what I expected to defend at the beginning of this year," Roger told the crowd. "It's an amazing run I'm on. Obviously I hope I can maintain it next season. I'll try my best."

Roger has ranked No. 1 every week since first taking over on Feb. 2, 2004, and has ranked No. 1 for 198 weeks as of Nov. 12 and broke record of Connors (160) for most consecutive weeks at No. 1 this season. Congratulations, Roger!

NIKOLAY DAVYDENKO (Russia) - world's # 4 tennis player

ANDY RODDICK (United States) - world's # 5 tennis player

RICHARD GASQUET (France) - world's # 8 tennis player

So, here they are..the top 8 players of the world! They really deserved to be placed where they are right now because they've worked for it really hard throughout the season..who will be your choice then? (.^__^.)

We had a seminar today about Student's Rights entitled as "The Right Stuff". This seminar was organized by the Pre-Com Society to let the 1st year and 2nd year college students of the Pre-Com department to be aware of the rights of a student here in the college of Commerce and in our University. This seminar actually tackles the issue about our Magna Carta which, till now, haven't been pushed through. I wonder....why is it that at ADMU, DLSU and UP..they have there Magna Carta while at UST, we still have none...for almost 400 years?

The issues that were talked about lead by our speaker are the issues about the professors, the subjects, the grading systems and many more. LIke for example, some of our professors are just being so unfair about giving out our grades. I won't give any names...but it's really happening. There's this one professor which fails students which are girls (well his a MR. or a doubt it) and there's an instance wherein a professor fails a student just because he or she doesn't like him or her. If we have a Magna Carta, surely, these things will not happen. There's one student who voiced out something during the open forum which is quite funny...he said:
"Bakit mga student, na FA (failure due to absences) bakit mga professors, hinde!"
He got a point, isn't it?! (.^__^.)

Next week will be the S.T.R.A.W week or the Students Right and Welfare week. I do hope that our Magna Carta will soon be recognized by the administration so as to give due respect to the rights of the students.

Happy Birthday Medz!

Today is the birthday of a very special friend of mine, Medalene! Can't believe it..she's already 18 years old. hahaha! magkakasing age na kami ngayon. She often teases me kasi that I'm the oldest of the 3...and now we're at the same age..hahaha!

I'm pretty confident that we made her day really happy. We had given her awesome surprises...like we gave her a chocolate cake (which she really loves!) and the messages from our classmates. I haven't finished my message yet so maybe I can give it to her on Monday.

Again, Happy 18th Birthday Medz! (.^__^.)
It's been 2 days since the start of our classes for the 2nd semester and syempre hindi pa heavy load ang mga subjects namin. May iba na nagstart na agad ng lessons and meron din naman na hindi pa pumapasok na professor. I haven't seen 3 of them...professors for Macroeconomics, Sociology and Management. I'm not in a hurry rin naman to meet them, I'm just thinking that maybe they're lazy rin to start classes at once after a long break.

There were some minor changes though. Hindi naman siya halata..pero changes pa rin.
First, we have a new classmate..her name is Lauriza. She's quiet but nice girl and for sure magiingay din yan pag nasanay na siya sa class namin. Her class, 2Iam, was dissolved kaya nadistribute sila to different sections and different sessions. Buti nalang hindi class namin yung nadissolve.

Second, bihira nalang ako makakita ng mga varsity players roaming around the building. Kasi they have different schedule na compared last semester during the UAAP season. I think MID and PM na sila ngayon...so medyo nalungkot kami... =(

Third, may free Wall Street Journal Asia everyday! I think nagpa-subscription ang College of Commerce to aid their future managers and entrepreneur. Since I'm fond of collecting things like this, everyday kumukuha ako ng copy. By the way, there's no new issue of Varsitarian yet! ..can't wait to grab a copy of it. (.^__^.)

Ito lang naman yung mga changes, the rest STILL THE SAME.
I'm just going to give you an update whenever there's something unique or cool going on.
By the way, birthday ni Medz bukas. We have a surprise for her...we're going to give her a cake tomorrow. Can't wait... =)

Federer Holds Session in King Arthur's Court

ATP World No. 1 Roger Federer is a scary sight with a tennis racquet in his hand. But there's no telling how much damage he could do with a sword.

Thankfully an armor-clad Federer was only playing to the camera when he unsheathed a sword recently. Dressed as King Arthur from "The Sword in the Stone" for Disney's "Year of a Million Dreams" promotion, Federer was photographed by renowned photographer Annie Leibovitz.

The finished photo, entitled "Where You're Always King of the Court," shows Federer, red cape flowing, beside a roiling sea.

"I always think it's cute when little kids dress up as Robin Hood or Tarzan," Federer said. "So when they approached me to do King Arthur I thought the idea was absolutely great. Now that you're older you don't get dressed up for a birthday party any more, so to be in armor was a special thing."

"I did feel strong on that rock. Everybody is looking at me. I'm higher than everybody. I got the sword, I got the armor and I got the longer hair going. It was a lot of fun."

Also photographed recently for Disney Park's 'Year of a Million Dreams' were actresses Rachel Weisz (as Snow White) and Julie Andrews (as the Blue Fairy from "Pinocchio") and Abigail Breslin (as Fira from "Disney Fairies")

They join Scarlett Johansson as Cinderella, Beyoncé as "Alice in Wonderland" twirling in a teacup and David Beckham atop a steed as Prince Phillip from "Sleeping Beauty" in a 14-page insert appearing later this year in several Condé Nast publications. Johansson, Beyoncé and Beckham also starred in the first flight of Leibovitz images last January.

The special insert will be unveiled in the December editions of Cookie, Condé Nast Traveler, Details, Glamour, GQ, Men's Vogue, New Yorker, Self, Vanity Fair, Vogue and W.

Final exams - - finally over..

Exams are finally over! yiipppeee! No more sleepless nights and sleepy mornings. No more worries about the upcoming tests whether what I've reviewed will be useful or not as I answer the exam. No more "knock of the conscience" moments whenever leakages were sent by my very generous and thoughtful classmates through my fone on the night before the exams. ..and many more "NO MORE'S"...(.^__^.) But behind all of these, there's one thing that makes me sad about the end of finals, it's the though that the 1st semester is already over. Marami pa namang masasayang memories ang nangyari this sem...

1. My section 2Ham and my classmates and new classmates including yung dalawang basketball players ng UST team.
2. UAAP season 70 where 5 times akong nakapanood ng live basketball game sa Araneta Coliseum. Even though hinde kami nakarating sa Finals yung team kasi natalo sila ng Ateneo okei lang..at least nasa final 4!
3. Ang pagduty sa gym together with my duty-college friends and girlfriends. It's fun to watch their practices, it shows support to the team plus the players will get to know you..hehe.. (.^__^.)
4. Successful events na inorganize ng Pre-Com Society like Mr. and Ms. Pre-Com Personality and our Pre-Com General Assembly. All those letters that I have done will surely be missed lalo na yung mga last minute works. But of course, work is not yet over for there's still more this coming semester.
5. My PE subject: Basketball together with my team...the undisputed Black team. I really enjoyed this subject and my PE teammates (most of them are also my classmates and friends). At least naman nabago yung type ng PE ko, hindi katulad nung 1st year na Folkdance and Social dance. Even though 2 games lang yata yung napanalunan namin, I score naman for each game! I made my contribution... both in offense and defense.Parang pang Jervy Cruz style of shooting..hindi ko kaya yung kay Dylan na pang 3 points eh..hindi kasi kaya ng arms ko..hehe!
6. Our play "Chabela Wedding Cake" in literature where I played the lead female role of Tita dela Garza. I will miss my famous and most talked about line of "Olele, Olala!" and "Nobody wanna see us together"...(sings). Even our director, si medz!. First time akong natakot kay medalene, super strict niya kasing mag lead..

There's a lot more actually but I'll just limit it to 6. And now, since the 1st semester is over, I'll give tribute to our professors. I'll describe each one of them since I've been under their care for almost 6 months. Let me arrange it according to my schedule...
(MWF)
Literature: 7:00-8:00am Mrs.Grajo
Well, she's a good teacher. She exposed us to new literary works and introduced to us great writers. It's just that when she explains about a certain story..she do all the talking. She seldom asked us for our opinions that's why it's a bit boring. But it's alright! The good part is that she allowed us to have a play and we're the Chabela Wedding Cake group.
Funny fact: Marami kaming nabasa na stories about gays and she told us a lot of gay language that I, myself, is not even familiar. The words like "tanders" "masyonda" which means old. All I know are "cheverlu" "chorva"..hehe. Some of my classmates even formed a theory that maybe yung past life na Mam Grajo ay isa siyang gay! (.^__^.)

Business Math: 8:00-9:00am Ms. de Castro
I don't love the subject and I even don't like the professor. That's my biggest trouble ever. Hindi ko talaga maintindihan yung lessons niya and another minus factor..I'm seated at the back part of the class. She arranged us alphabetically in a vertical form.
Funny Fact: We called her bunny, some cyclops. I don't know, but there's some problems in her eyes. And oh, by the way she's a bit old but she's still single. If anyone is interested proceed to UST College of Commerce Faculty room.. (.^__^.)

Management: 9:00-10:00am Mrs. Mazo
This one, I love the subject and I love the professor. I'm soo lucky! The only problem is that she's sometimes not around..she's absent from class. Pero I tell you pag nagturo na talaga siya, super maiintindihan mo yung lesson..she really knows the subject and marami siyang experience about business management.
Funny Fact: One time nung nag-absent siya from class the reason was that tumaas yung blood pressure niya. The reason was that she ate Beef Kare-Kare given to her by her daughter. Well, if you know that it's bad for your health, why would you eat it..isn't it? (.^__^.)

Computer Lecture: 10:00-11:00am Mr. Yu
When I was in highschool, computer was really easy. Lectures were just about history, father of computer, generations of computer and the like. In college Computer was complicated. What happened?!?! New terms ASCII, EBCIDIC, Decimal, Binary, Octal and Hexadecimal numbers, FORTRAN, COBOL...etc. I don't want to recall these terms anymore. It just give me a headache. He even gave us added readings like "Why I hate Microsoft" and "Halloween Documents". Do we need these things when we manage our own businesses? I'm 100% sure it will not..perhaps "Why I hate Mr. Yu" will be a big hit in the market.
Funny Fact: Mr Yu looks like Einstein. His hair, mustache..his features you know! (.^__^.)

Computer Laboratory: 12:00-3:00pm (every Fridays only) Mr. Marzalado
Oooppsss.. sir Sir Ian pogi na! He told us to call him like that...well, a protest is needed..hehe! You see, 3 hours in the computer laboratory, seated and focused on your computer...that's a sore in the eyes. I love our lessons about Microsoft Word..it's easy. But when we're at Microsoft Excel...worksheets, summations, vlookup...really hard to apprehend. But it's good to know that those features in Microsoft Office are really helpful. I never imagined that I can do such things there. Okei naman si Sir eh, kaya lang pag nagpaexam na siya..enumeration ng options under File menu, Edit Menu, Format Menu..etc in order! Step by step process in order! I tell you, you're grades are dead. But luckily, I survived..i'm just partly dead.. =)
Funny fact: He told us one story that way back when he's an instructor at Informatics he had a student which is a gay. This gay got a crush on him. Sir Ian pogi talaga oh!..hehe..

TThS
Accounting: 7:00-8:00am Atty. Dolosa
This professor is really good. Finally, Accounting is a lot easier for me. He really explained Partnership accounting entity clearly. He gave good examples so all I have to do is jot it down in my notebook. Our quizzes are even easy..no problem at all.
Funny Fact: He's funny! And he's our only professor to require a notebook. He checked it once a while whether we answered our assignments..I got top marks there!

Microeconomics: 8:00-9:00am Mr. Bernardo
I don't like this subject. I will never get this as my major subject next year. I don't understand the graphs involved....but one thing important that you must remember is this. "Marginal benefit must always exceed Marginal Cost". And ngayon ko lang nalaman na there's explicit cost and implicit cost..para kasing explicit cost lahat eh. There's a lot of economic terms to understand..that's a problem..but that's only my minor problem. I have a major problem, same as the whole class, Mr. Bernardo doesnt care if we understand it or not. I think his only concern is that he delivered the lesson within the 1 hour given to him..and that's it. "Just have your readings, just analyze it..madali lang naman yan eh.." for him..but for us..not! He even explained things in front of his kodigos.. and a powerpoint presentation.
Funny Fact: He told us that he had been teaching for 9 years now at different colleges and universities. And he is currently teaching at the same time in Miriam College. I think he reached that 9 years like an NPA because no college accepted him as a tenured professor. He isn't that good, I tell you!

Rizal: 9:00-10:00am Mr. Roda
When he enters the classroom the first word that comes out of his mouth are trashy words.. i mean like the @$%$^$%&*£%£ and the ^$%"&$%"&$% and the @£"&&^%$£^*!£^. I'm not familiar with this words, but now I am. Pero Sir Roda is a good professor. I will really miss him, my college will not be complete without him being my rizal professor. Siya ang "emperor" ng class and ng buong commerce department. He travelled to madrid, paris and heidelberg. He's scholarly, according to him..(.^__^.) He has a soft heart too..he told us that when he retire next year, he will miss all the class he handled and when that time comes he will just look back at the pictures he had taken and cherish our smiles and our faces. He's the best photographer ever..he loves photographs and he always brings with him his camera.
Funny fact: Sabi niya, he's like Rizal..even when it comes with girls. Rizal got lots of girlfriends..he had an affair on each places he went. He told us that he is worthy to have a statue of his own. Well, let' see..(.^__^.)

Ethics: 10:00-11:00am Mr. Maisog
He's quite okei...the subject was easy it's just that when he explains things masyadong maraming synonyms sa sentence niya to the point na paulit-ulit yung gusto niyang iparating sa amin that's why hindi na siya masyadong maintindihan in the end. Pero mabait si Sir Maisog..tama talaga na Ethics yung ituro niya.
Funny Fact: He's fond of UST basketball players. They are his favorites. In our class he often calls the attention of Scott and Marquez and then makikipag-joke sa kanila. But I tell you, AB professor rin siya and bestfriend niya daw si Dylan! Shucks..dapat pala nakipagclose ako kay Sir..hehe..! Sabi nga ng iba kong friends from other class papapuntahin niya daw si Dylan sa class nila because he's the perfect example of having a balance between studies and extra curricular activities. (.^__^.)

This semester is really a blast! I will miss it.. =)

Tigers Peg Fourth Slot

The Far Eastern University Tamaraws let go in the middle quarters to have University of Santo Tomas formally advance into the stepladder series, the defending champions winning, 80-69, on September 17 at the Araneta Coliseum where the shrill of the crowd had the power of over 9000.
The Growling Tigers limited FEU to six points in the second quarter, while Dylan Ababou received the spheroid at the side for a three-point basket and largest deficit, 59-35, 2:50 of the third.

"Buhay na naman kami. Kapag gipitan, mas masarap manalo,"
remarked UST head coach Pido Jarencio.
"Ang Tigre mabagsik kapag playoff."

Jervy Cruz, who had the crowd chanting "MVP", showed his worth with 17 points, 5/11 at the field, 7/7 at the line, and 14 rebounds. Anthony Espiritu went for 12 markers, two assists, and two steals.

Ababou and Khasim Mirza had identical stats of 11 points, four boards, and a block. Japs Cuan had a near triple-double of eight markers, nine rebounds, eight feeds, and six turnovers.
Jarencio's driving force to his wards were, "Wala ng bukas. Ayaw ko pang mag-bakasyon."
Reil Cervantes was thrown out with 17 points on 7/11 shooting, nine caroms, and eight errors. Mac Baracael made 15, seven, and four feeds.

This is just the beginning of the struggle for the Tigers, who would next go against the loser of the Ateneo de Manila University and De La Salle University tug of war for the twice-to-beat to be held on September 18 at the Big Dome on 3pm.

FEU surprised the hosts with a 14-7 boost to begin the hostilities, with Baracael putting it in, 4:56 of the first period.

Espiritu's quick reverse midway of the second gave UST the lead for good, 25-23, 5:20. The black and gold then limited the Tams scoreless for four and a half minutes, while they built a 39-25 halftime pad with Ababou credited for seven of the points in that 14-2 blast.

With the España-based squad controlling the third quadrant, Far Eastern went Custer in the final ten minutes, relying on the three-point shot for solace. The green and gold did manage to go within single digits with Paul Sanga's three at the corner coming from an Andy Barroca drive and dish, 66-75, 1:46

THE DREAM IS NOT YET DEAD
Staving off eligibility controversies and last second heartbreakers, the UST Growling Tigers ended all doubts about their ability to defend the crown as they mauled two of their last three assignments to muscle its way into the final spot in the step-ladder round of the UAAP Season 70 Basketball wars.

Due to the University of the East (UE) Red Warrior’s immaculate 14-0 record in the elimination round, they automatically enter the finals, an incentive given by the UAAP to a team that earns an immaculate slate.

As a result, instead of having the traditional Final Four format, a step ladder elimination round is employed wherein the third and fourth ranked team battle in a winner-take all match.

The second ranked squad meanwhile, will hold a twice to beat advantage and will take on the winner of the playoff between the third and fourth team.

The Growling Tigers, who now sport a 9-6 win-loss record, defeated the rookie-laden Far Eastern University (FEU) Tamaraws, 80-69, in their rubber match last September 17 at the Araneta Coliseum.

The Tigers showed no fear in the do or die playoff game, burying the stigma caused by two previous defeats at the hands of their Morayta-based counterparts.

The España-based dribblers blew the game wide-open after they unleashed a 14-2 blast capped-off by a Dylan Ababou floater through the heart of the Tamaraw defense to give UST a 39-25 edge heading into halftime.

From there, the UST lead ballooned, going up to as much as 24 points, 59-35, midway into the third quarter.

But the tenacious Tamaraws refused to fade into oblivion as FEU forwards Paul Sanga and Marnel Baracael conspired in a 14-4 blast to whittle away the UST lead to mere nine points with 1:44 remaining in the game.

MVP candidate Jervy Cruz hit a pair of crucial free-throws to hammer in the final nail in the coffin on the Tamaraws’ title bid with less then a minute to go.

Tigers coach Pido Jarencio credits the mismatches created by his defensive play calling as the catalyst for the blow-out win.
“I mixed-up the defense in the second quarter which confused our opponents, they found it hard to score,” Jarencio told the Varsitarian.
“Our defensive pressure, in turn, created much better scoring opportunities for us.”

Slotman Cruz played another monster game, producing a game-high 17 points and 14 rebounds to make-up for his poor showing in the previous game.

NO 6-PEAT FOR ‘GAWI, SETTLES FOR 2nd

Of all the colors in the Big Dome that day, maroon stood out.
The University of Santo Tomas Salinggawi Dance Troupe(SDT) failed to defend their UAAP Cheer Dance Competition championship title, as the University of the Philippines (UP) Pep Squad brought home the title this year with a 0.5 margin in the scores, during the dance-off last September 16 at the jampacked Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.

SDT, with a ‘retro’-theme came second with 92.16 points. The 5-peat champions for this year was dethroned by the UP Pep Squad who garnered 92. 66 with their rock-themed cheer dance. The Far Eastern University Pep Squad (FEUPS) came third with 91.66 and bagged P69,000 as prize.

The Espana-based dance troupe, choreographed by Ryan Silva, won the championship title five-straight times from 2002 to 2006.

Champs UP Pep Squad grabbed the championship in 2001. This year, they won a trophy and the top prize of P172,500, aside from clenching the thirst of the championship title.

This is the UP Pep Squad’s 4th championship title, after their 3-peat from 1999-2001. UST-SDT already won eight titles since the Cheer Dance Competition was established in 1995.

The five other schools were ranked as: Ateneo de Manila University Blue Bubble Battalion - 4th; Adamson University Pep Squad -5th; University of the East Pep Squad – 6th; De La Salle University Pep Squad -7th; National University Pep Squad - 8th.

The cheer dance was judged according to choreography (50%), synchronization (30 %), audience audibility (10 %) and costume(10 %).

** I wasn't able to grab a ticket for today's cheerdance competition because, at the first place, I prefer to watch it on television so that I can be able to watch the stunts and pyramids clearly. The first to perform was DLSU followed by UP, FEU, NU, AdU, UST, UE and ADMU. I would like to credit them all because they had really done a great job. I really enjoyed watching each team and it's as if I'm watching a professional cheerdance competition. Sadly, hindi namin nakuha yung 6 peat!...6 years consecutive championship na sana kaya lang we just reached the 2nd spot. It isn't bad after all..pero syempre mas okei yung 1st place.

UP made it to the top. Hindi ko masyadong nagustuhan yung cheerdance nila kasi black and maroon yung color nila and then medyo magulo na sa end part. Pero, infairness, ganda ng opening part nila and unique yung mga stunts na ginawa nila. Sa part naman ng UST Salinggawi Dance Troupe (STD), I love their performance...it's soo cute! Especially the yellow wig retro style part. But then there was an error during the first pyramid stunt of the group. Yung isang girl hindi niya nabalance yung sarili niya habang pabuo na ng pyramid, so hindi nacomplete yung stunt...nung nahulog nga yung girl, super sigawan yung mga students sa crowd. Then, medyo nakulangan din ako sa performance nila..much simpler compared to last year. Ewan ko ba kung bakit ganon, pero maganda parin. After ko mapanood yung sa UST nafeel ko agad na we can't be able to defend our title na...bye-bye 6 peat!
Luckily, we placed 2nd. I even thought na 3rd pa nga kami eh. Just come to think of it..may error na nga yung performance naka2nd place pa..kamusta naman yun? So, it means..magaling talaga! FEU placed 3rd. Actually, bet ko pa FEU kasi they look like penguins on their costumes and with their cheerdance. Kaya lang, hindi sila synchronize..medyo magulo, pero okei na rin.
After all what matters the most is that UST was almost there..0.5 point margin...a bit close, huh? Wait for next year and for sure STD will have the trophy again..(.^__^.)
